Jay Z: "Uh, uh-huh"
A must-have for any good Jay Z impersonation, Jigga's throat clearance quickly became his trademark although lately we've been hearing more of this new thing, "Aw!" [see here]. I'm leaning towards the prior.
Young Jeezy: "Yeeeeaaaaahhhh!"
Occasionally he'll throw a "chyeah" in but the drawn-out 'yeah' has always been Jeezy's go-to catchphrase.
Gucci Mane: "Eeeyyeahhh"
You can say a lot of things about Gucci Mane but nobody can front on this dude's catchphrase game. With "Burr", "Skurr", "itsGucci", and this one, and considering those words make up a good percentage of his blank space between rhymes.. there's no way in hell your not gonna know Gucci's on the track.
Rick Ross: "Bawse"
Honestly, who comes to mind first when you think of the word 'boss'? Your supervisor or Rick Ross?
Diddy: "Take that"
There was a time, I guess it was probably when I first discovered Biggie and didn't listen to anything else, that I would have paid good money to get my hands on some of his tracks where Puffy wasn't needlessly talking his bullshit the whole way through. Eventually I got used to it though, I don't even hear him anymore.
Busta Rhymes: "Huh Hah"/"C'Mon!"
Busta's a little erratic with his catchphrases but you're bound to hear one (if not both) of these two a couple songs deep on a youtube search.
Mike Jones: "Mike Jones!"
I debated putting this on my list but I have to admit, Mr. Jones put in work on this one. At one point, "Mike Jones!" was the standard response to any "Who?" inquiry, no questions asked. He's fallen off the map since then but I'd say he had one of the more successful catchphrases out of them all.
Nelly: "Oh!"
Not really something you'd notice unless you were looking for it, or unless you were a Nelly fan (ha!).
Flavor Flav: "Yeah Boiiii!"
Had to throw this one up just for closure. Probably the most distinctive saying out of anybody's.
